Why do people feel the need in discussions to mention their qualifications, as if it totally invalidates who ever they are speaking with points
Checked out a video by the YoungTurks, about a lady that was suing her mother, a photographer, that made pictures of her depicted as a miniature adult that were featured in Italian Playboy. A practice that was common in the 18th century, and art has dabbled in ever since. I guess it’s away to examine the differences in childhood, and question the belief that childhood is a natural occurrence rather than a social construct. (See video below)
Here is my comment to the above, and response from a history and anthropology graduate…
It’s easy to see how people can become reactionary to these sort of topics, especially as paedophillia is the moral panic of our times. However as someone that claims to have studied, Anthropology and History, I would have expected better.
